Tigers are among the most iconic animals on Earth, but their future is uncertain. Three of the nine tiger subspecies are extinct, and fewer than 3,900 tigers remain in the wild, occupying just 4% of their historic range. Fortunately, many charities work to protect these majestic creatures.

 

​White tigers, a rare variant of the Bengal tiger, are notable for their white coats caused by a genetic mutation. They are mostly found in captivity, where breeding practices have raised ethical concerns due to genetic health issues.

 

​The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) is a UK-based charity dedicated to protecting endangered wildlife. Founded by David Shepherd in 1984, DSWF focuses on combating wildlife crime, protecting habitats, and engaging communities. They support projects for tigers, elephants, rhinos, and more through anti-poaching efforts, habitat restoration, and education.
